In short

Coloured concrete uses oxide pigment mixed through the concrete or worked into the surface as a colour hardener, so ordinary wear does not expose grey underneath the way paint does. Sunshine Coast Concrete Services applies single tones and multi-colour panel layouts to driveways, patios and alfresco areas across the Sunshine Coast, QLD.

Overview

What coloured concrete actually is

Coloured concrete uses oxide pigment either mixed through the concrete or applied as a colour hardener worked into the surface. The result is a solid, even tone with depth to it, so ordinary scuffing and wear does not expose grey underneath the way a painted coating does.

Single colours suit driveways and alfresco areas that need to sit quietly against the house. Multiple colours can be masked into panels, borders and geometric layouts where the surface is meant to be the feature rather than the background.

What a coloured finish gives you

01

Pigment, not paint

Oxide colour sits in the surface, so wear does not reveal grey beneath it.

03

Matched to the house

Chosen against your render, roof and paving using the physical colour chart.

Questions

Coloured concrete questions, answered

More in the concreting FAQ and guides.

Does coloured concrete fade?

Iron-oxide pigments are lightfast, so the colour itself is stable. What dulls over time is the sealer and the surface; cleaning and re-sealing brings most coloured concrete back. See the sealing guide.

Can you match a colour to my house?

Yes. We bring the physical colour chart to the quote so you can hold it against your render, roof and paving in natural light.

Is the colour mixed through or on the surface?

Either. Oxide can be mixed through the whole pour, or worked into the surface as a colour hardener. Both resist wear far better than paint.
