Concrete Patios & Alfresco Areas
Outdoor living areas poured with the right fall, the right joints and a finish that suits how you use the space.
In short
Sunshine Coast Concrete Services pours concrete patios, alfresco and entertaining areas across the Sunshine Coast, QLD — new slabs, or decorative resurfacing over existing concrete. Each patio is set out with a fall away from the house for drainage, reinforced, and finished in plain, coloured, exposed aggregate, stencil or stamped concrete, then sealed. On-site quotes are free.

Getting a patio right
Fall and drainage
A patio should fall gently away from the house so rain runs to the garden or a drain — never back towards the doors or the house slab. We set the levels before the pour and check them against your doorways, steps and existing paving.
Covered or open
Under a roof, smoother finishes such as coloured or plain float work well and are easy to keep clean. Open patios take full sun and rain, so a textured or exposed aggregate finish with a quality sealer lasts better and grips when wet.
Where the patio meets the house and pool
An isolation joint separates the patio from the house slab and pool coping so each can move independently. Next to the house, the patio must not cover weep holes or your termite management system’s inspection zone — we check this on site.
Resurfacing an existing patio
If your current patio is level, drains properly and has only fine cracks, it can be resurfaced in a new colour and stencil pattern instead of being replaced. See resurface or replace? and concrete resurfacing.
How a patio job runs
1. Call and talk through the space. 2. We visit, measure up, check levels and bring colour and pattern samples, then send a written quote. 3. Excavation, formwork, mesh and pour. 4. Finish, cure and seal, with care advice. Most patios are walkable within a day or two; see curing & care.
